Join our team at Maxpro Financials, where we provide trusted tax, accounting, and advisory services to more than 2,000 businesses and individual clients. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant to help us deliver exceptional service to our clients.
📌 Position Overview
As an Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in categorizing and recording transactions in accounting software, managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with Canadian laws, rules, regulations, and accounting standards. You will also support clients with their tax and accounting needs while contributing to the growth of our firm.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
• Process payroll for multiple clients
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
• Perform reconciliations and month-end closing activities
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance
• Ensure compliance with Canadian tax rules and accounting standards
• Collaborate with clients and provide professional accounting guidance
• Work effectively with the internal team to meet client deadlines
• Handle confidential financial data with integrity and discretion
🎓 Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation or working toward it is an asset)
• Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, including recording and maintaining general journal entries. (Previous bookkeeping experience is considered an asset and will be viewed as a privilege in the selection process.)
• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks; other platforms an asset)
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis), and strong skills in Word and other Office tools
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational abilities
• Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
• Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends during peak periods
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous learning
